Accessibility Statement
Everyone should be able to see our work, read about our services and request a free estimate. Here is what we do to make that possible.
Our standard
Ariel's Painting LLC builds this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content work for people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities. We treat them as part of the job, the same way we treat surface prep before paint.
What we built in
- A skip link and clear page landmarks, so keyboard and screen reader users can jump straight to the content.
- One main heading per page with headings nested in order.
- Every link, button, slider and form field works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus ring.
- Written descriptions on project photos and before-and-after sliders.
- Labels on every quote form field, with error messages tied to the field that needs fixing.
- Text and background colors chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast.
- Pages that reflow at 200% zoom and on small phone screens.
- Animation that stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
The accessibility menu
The round button at the bottom of every page opens an accessibility menu. You can also open it with Ctrl + U (Cmd + U on a Mac). Your choices save in your browser and carry over to every page.
- Profiles
- One tap sets up the site for low vision, color blindness, dyslexia, ADHD, motor impairment, seizure safety and more.
- Text
- Larger text up to 150%, wider letter and word spacing, taller lines, a readable font and text alignment.
- Color
- High contrast, inverted colors, grayscale, softer or stronger color, and an option to hide images.
- Navigation
- Highlighted links and titles, a stronger focus outline, a big cursor, paused motion and a reading guide.
- Tools
- Read aloud, a double-click dictionary, tooltips, and a page outline that jumps to any heading or link.
The menu adds options on top of the site. It does not replace the screen reader, magnifier or other tools you already use, and the site works with those tools without it.
Known limitations
Two parts of the site come from outside providers: the live chat window and the Google reviews panel. We chose providers that support keyboard use, but we cannot change their code. If either one gets in your way, call us or read our reviews directly on Google.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site is hard to use, we want to fix it. Tell us which page you were on, what you tried to do and what stopped you. We can also give you any information on this site by phone or email, and our estimates happen in person at your property.
